The fun night of mixing and mingling is put together by my good friend Christina of The Events Boutique for the Museum of Latin American Art. I think it’s a great venue for any bride and I love taking wedding photos there all the time. So don’t forget to bring a friend and stop by to say hi!

Here’s my very first fine art maternity portrait. I took this portrait of my sister Karina who is expected to give birth to her first baby boy in just a couple of days. I took this portrait not at my studio but rather at her home so she would feel more comfortable.  I think it was better for my approach to this subject and love the way this portrait turned out.

I did everything in camera and without any special filters. It looks like a japanese paper print and perfect for how simple I wanted it to be. Usually I’m worrying about critical focus in most of my shots but with this session I wanted to totally lose myself and be free from technical stuff so I could just go with my instinct. And it worked! It feels so great to create personal work like this and to create a new piece of art! Plus I wanted an element of mystery to this series where you as a viewer could come up to a conclusion of what you where seeing if I had said nothing to you about it.  What do you think?
